On November 26, 1956, Fidel Castro sails to Cuba. With him is his brother, Raul Castro, and an Argentine doctor named Ernesto "Che" Guevara. All of them are driven by a burning desire: To overthrow the corrupt dictator Fulgencio Batista and create a new and free Cuba. Slowly they fight their way through the forests, and Che proves to be an excellent strategist and guerilla warrior. As the fighting escalates, Che becomes an icon for both his comrades and the entire Cuban people - especially as the smoke settles in the streets of Havana, and Batista is sent into exile.
Steven Soderbergh has directed this gigantic project, which ended up as a whole two films, each depicting a different part of Che Guevara's life. Che is impressively played by Benicio Del Toro.

After the Cuban revolution, Che is at the peak of his fame and power. He then goes underground, but then reappears incognito in Bolivia. Here he gathers and organizes a small group of Cuban comrades and Bolivian recruits to start the great Latin American revolution. The history of the struggles in Bolivia is a tale of endurance, great sacrifices, idealism and a guerilla war that goes wild and becomes the end for Che. Through this story, we finally understand why Che has become a symbol of idealism and heroism for people all over the world.
