CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 2:

It's Nurse Lee's first Christmas in Poplar and she is given the responsibility of caring for the poor Mrs. Jenkins along with one of the sisters. Chummy is busy preparing for the nativity play that will be performed for the Poplar mayor, and all hands are needed to produce the ever-growing number of costumes and props needed for the play. Meanwhile, a young teenage girl who is helping her mother with her brothers is also secretly pregnant, and when a baby is left on the convent's front door, the infant's mother must be found.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 3:

Shelagh (formerly Sister Bernadette) struggles with her decision to leave the convent and marry Dr. Turner, and when his son Timothy is diagnosed with polio, the wedding is called off. Trixie tries to help a patient's husband who has been traumatized by his time fighting in the Korean War. An unexploded German bomb is discovered near the convent, forcing local residents to flee their homes.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 4:

When harsh conditions at a home for unwed mothers-to-be are revealed, Chummy and Patsy must take over the running of the home and later help a young mother realise that she is not as ready to give up her baby for adoption as she thought.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 5:

The BBC plans to televise a Christmas caroling performance from Poplar, but Shelagh's plans for the event are thrown into chaos when the children's choir she has organised is quarantined due to a measles outbreak. After an argument, Sister Monica Joan disappears and when a body is found in the river, the nuns fear the worst.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 6:

Most of the Nonnatus House staff travel to a small rural mission hospital in South Africa that is threatened with closure. Finding the health of patients seriously threatened by a dwindling and dirty water supply, they must try to convince a local landowner to install a new, life-saving pipeline through his farm. They must also deliver a baby in the bush when their only truck breaks down, and deal with a distraught woman with a false pregnancy.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 7:

The unusually harsh winter of 1962–63 is hard on the residents of Poplar. Valerie tries to reassure an unwed mother-to-be that her partner, who is not the father, will be able to love the baby as his own. But Valerie gives birth a month early, believing the baby to be stillborn, leaving all three grieving. However, on the way back to Nonnatus House, she discovers that the baby is actually alive. The death of a local man leads Sister Julienne to uncover a dark history of emotional, physical and sexual abuse that has torn the family apart.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL - SEASON 8:

The nuns are called back to their Mother House when their mother is found to be terminally ill. Mother Superior wants Sister Julienne to be the new Superior, but Sister Julienne is hesitant. Shelagh decides to help May, a Chinese orphan whose adoption has been put on hold. Trixie returns to Poplar and is surprised to learn that expectant mothers are increasingly leaving Nonnatus House in favor of hospital births.
