Brad's Status

Brad (Ben Stiller) has a distinguished career and lives a comfortable life in the suburbs of Sacramento with his good-natured wife (Jenna Fischer) and son (Austin Abrams), who is musically gifted. Life is not quite over yet, as he imagined it in his days of prosperity at university. On a trip to Boston, where he read in his youth, Brad can't help but compare himself and his life to the old slang: a Hollywood mogul (Mike White), a hedge fund founder (Luke Wilson), a tech entrepreneur (Jemaine Clement) and a political expert and bestselling author (Michael Sheen). Brad imagines their rich, glamorous life, all the while fearing that the comfortable middle-class condition his life bears the stamp of is all he ever wants to achieve. When circumstances force him to reconnect with his former friends, Brad begins to doubt who is really living the good life.
